As the expression goes... "If a crow is your guide, you'll always be in a mess." Although the expression is funny, I happen to like crows. They're highly intelligent. If they get to trust you, they'll bring you gifts. Not diamonds or gold, but maybe bottle caps. But despite my respect for crows, I understand the meaning of this saying. And it makes sense in legal matters.

Bad legal advice from a "crow" can lead to bad decisions. I've seen this many times. Someone faces a difficult crossroads in their life.... divorce, accident, debt, etc. Whatever the setting, the general idea is the same. They need good advice. Instead, a friend tells them, "If you start that lawsuit, they'll tear your private life apart in court." "They'll throw you out of the country."

The person who hears this is paralyzed with fear. They think, "If I start that lawsuit, I'll lose my job... I'll be humiliated in court." Most times, those things don't happen. If the person hires a good attorney, they might not even go to court very much. But if one is guided by a "crow" who gave legal advice learned from watching TV shows, that could make for poor decisions.

If the person received good guidance from someone who actually knew how the court system works, they could have made a good decision. They could have been freed of a terrible personal situation.
