Bilsen neler dönüyor... müşterilerin oyunları. Hırsızlık, yalan, sahtelik. It's sad to see so much shoplifting in recent times. Many stores now keep ordinary merchandise locked up to prevent theft. Even worse, some stores have closed their doors. But there are "ustas" out there who make basic shoplifters look like mere amateurs. I'm talking about crimes involving fake returns.

We've seen the thief who does their stealing at the customer service desk.

"I'd like to return this power drill."

"Of course, sir. Could I see the receipt?"

The customer presents a legitimate receipt. Unfortunately for the store, the drill they are "returning" is one they picked off a store shelf five minutes ago. Although this scam is still used, video surveillance has made it more difficult for thieves. But a more recent form of theft at the return counter goes like this,

"I'd like to return this bag."

The problem is that the bag they are returning is not the designer bag they brought. It is a counterfeit. Not only does the store lose, but the poor customer who now pays top dollar for that fake bag from the store shelves loses. These well-mannered scammers are no different than the crude shoplifter who fights with store security after setting off alarms. Their offenses are also theft crimes under penal codes.
