"Sahtelik" is a broad word. It is used in so many settings. It basically means fraud, or lying. A forgery of an artwork. Counterfeit money. Hiding problems about a business. Even in matters of the heart, "sahtelik" has sometimes been raised as an issue in divorce proceedings... as in "sahte sevgi." But such cases are not common.
Unfortunately, "sahtelik" can be everywhere - money... Banka Ve Dövizciden Dolar Alırken Nelere Dikkat Etmeliyiz? https://youtube.com/shorts/rl28KJhTOgk?feature=share
And "sahtelik" can be in gold... How do jewelers distinguish fake gold from the real thing? https://youtu.be/MFxd68Jj7ZA
If someone was cheated in a deal, how would they prove this legal business of "sahtelik?" They could use ugly language and mutter under their breath, "sahte herif." But that won't do a lot legally. They could sue. If they sue, they'll need to prove certain things in court. Suing could be costly. If the loss is not large, sometimes it could be easier to let things go - AĞLAMA DEĞMEZ HAYAT https://www.communityabroad.com/turkish/post/1000000052535
If they choose to sue, what will they need to prove in court?
(1) The wrongdoer made false statements about an important element of the deal
(2) The wrongdoer knew that the statements were false
(3) The victim relied on those statements
(4) The victim was harmed by those statements
This basic analysis can be applied to most situations involving "sahtelik." In court, the victim is going to try to show these things. And of course, the "sahte herif" is going to try to show that one or more of these elements is missing from the equation. Ajda Pekkan had a song that sums things up well when it comes to falsehood.
